Split planner

A goal time as the number you need to see at each marker — even, a negative split, or the fade you would rather plan than discover.

Which race?

Kilometres. Used when Other is selected.

What are you going for?

The time on the clock when you cross the line.

How do you want to run it?

How much quicker or slower the second half is, as a percentage. Ignored on an even plan. Up to 15.

Mark a split

Three ways to run the same time

Even

The same pace from the gun to the line.

Negative split

Start controlled, finish faster. How most good races are run.

Fade

Bank time early and give it back. Plan for it if it is the plan.

Pace moves in a straight line from the first kilometre to the last, so a 2% negative split really is a second half two per cent quicker than the first rather than a sprint at the end. Whichever shape you pick, the finish time is the one you asked for.

Not sure what to aim for? The race time predictor turns a result you have already run into a goal that is plausible.
