Terms

Terms

The short, plain-English version. RunFolio is free, your races are yours, and it comes with no warranty.

Last revised

RunFolio is a free service run by one person as a personal project. These terms are deliberately short, and they are written to be read rather than to be survived.

Using it

You need an account to log races. You must be old enough to agree to this where you live, and you must give an email address you actually control.

One person, one account. Do not sign up as somebody else, and do not claim a username in order to impersonate someone.

Your races are yours

You keep ownership of everything you upload — your photographs, your notes, your times. Nothing here transfers any of that.

By putting them on RunFolio you give permission to store them and to display them as part of the service: on your public profile, on your race pages, and in the link-preview cards that get generated so a shared link looks like something. That permission exists so the product can do the one thing it is for, and it ends when you delete the content or the account.

Your profile is public. Not a setting, not a default — the product is a page you share. Do not upload anything you are not willing to have publicly readable.

What you upload

You need the right to upload it. In practice that means your own photographs, or ones the photographer is happy for you to publish. Race photography is frequently owned by the event or by a photography company, and buying a digital copy is not always the same as being allowed to republish it — that is between you and them.

Do not upload anything unlawful, anything that harasses somebody, or anything that is not about your own running. Accounts doing that can be removed.

Third-party services

Strava import is optional. If you use it, your use of Strava is governed by Strava’s terms and privacy policy, not these. RunFolio reads the activity list you authorise and nothing else.

That integration depends on an interface somebody else controls. If Strava changes or withdraws it, the import may stop working with no notice, and that is not something this service can promise around.

The calculators under Tools are general guidance built from published performance tables. They are not coaching, they are not medical advice, and they know nothing about your injury history. Talk to a professional before starting a training block.

No warranty, and no guarantee it will still be here

This is provided as-is. It runs on the free tiers of three platforms and is maintained by one person in their spare time, and it would be dishonest to promise an uptime figure, a support response time, or that your data will never be lost through someone else’s outage.

Keep your own copies of photographs that matter to you. That is the practical advice, and it is the same advice for any free service.

To the extent the law allows, there is no liability for lost data, lost time, or anything that follows from the service being unavailable or wrong.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from settings, and it takes everything with it.

An account may be removed for the reasons above — impersonation, unlawful content, harassment — or if the service shuts down. If it ever does shut down, the intent is notice and a way to get your photographs out first, not a page that stops resolving one morning.

Changes

These terms may change. The revision date at the top changes with them, and continuing to use the service after that is how you accept the new version. There is no notification mechanism, because there is no mailing list.

The law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.
